Resources that have qualified in a Forward Capacity Auction (FCA) for one capacity commitment period (CCP) may be able to acquire a capacity supply obligation (CSO) for earlier CCPs. This can be done during the reconfiguration actions and bilateral periods for the corresponding CCPs. The specific dates for these events can be found in the FCA calendars.
In any given calendar year, there are auctions and bilateral periods related to five different capacity commitment periods:
New resources must receive a potential capacity network resource capability (PCNRC) from the ISO to participate in reconfiguration auctions and CSO bilateral periods for a prior commitment period. See Capacity Network Resource Capability (CNRC) Outcomes for details on the PCNRC value.
